Hiking and Culture

Mittewald/Mezzaselva is just 7 km von Brixen/Bressanone on the floor of the valley. You can climb from Schalders/Scaleres, on past the Schrüttensee Lake and the Alpine meadows, and on to the Radlseehaus... you can stroll through fruit orchards and chestnut forests, stopping occasionally at a rustic inn for a hearty snack and some refreshments... and then hike through vineyards to the Neustift /Novacella monastery to admire the famous library. There is a rich variety of hiking trails only a few kilometers from Mittewald/Mezzaselva , offering a wide range of cultural treasures.
